Do you know why you don’t fall sick most of the time even after you eat food from the streets?
That is because of an important characteristic of your body, which is called immunity.
Your body is designed in such a way that it can fight diseases. The white blood cells present inside your body are the defenders which produce antibodies which are meant to fight any kind of diseases. But often it so happens, that your immune system or your white blood cells start attacking the healthy blood cells in your body as it is unable to identify between the healthy from the infection. This condition is called an Autoimmune Disease.
One of the most common conditions which are an example of an autoimmune disease is arthritis, namely Rheumatoid Arthritis. The condition of Rheumatoid Arthritis causes severe pain in the joint and damage all over the body while affecting both the joints. For example, if your right knee joint is affected by Rheumatoid Arthritis, your left knee joint will be affected too.
Signs and Symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis:
The symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis which occur all over the body are:
- Joint Pain
- Joint Swelling
- Loss of function in the joint
- Stiffness in the Joint
Apart from this, there are quite a few early signs of rheumatoid arthritis which if diagnosed in time, can prevent it from spreading to the other joints of the body.
Fatigue: One of the most common symptoms of any stage of rheumatoid arthritis is fatigue especially during the time of inflammation of the joint. The reason due to which fatigue is caused is the reaction of the body to anemia, poor sleep habits, and inflammation. Fatigue during rheumatoid arthritis results in severe mood disorders and can hamper relationships with people, productivity, sex drive and also can be associated with loss of appetite and weight loss.
Limping: Limping occurs due to the poor function of the lower part of the body. When rheumatoid arthritis affects your hips, knees, ankles, and feet, limping is a result of it.
Anemia: The inflammation of joints due to rheumatoid arthritis often causes the bone marrow to reduce the release of red blood cells to circulate the body. Due to this decrease in the number of red blood cells, lowers the blood count resulting in anemia.
Fever: When the condition continuously causes inflammation, you might have a fever however it is not common in rheumatoid arthritis to have the fever as a symptom. The temperature does not increase to a great extent but it does qualify as a symptom of this condition.
These signs and symptoms are most commonly seen during the condition of rheumatoid arthritis.
